The Storyteller
Dear Appalachia is a multimedia project started by Katie Gardner, a recent graduate of the Communication & Development Studies masters program at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. An eighth-generation Appalachian, Katie created Dear Appalachia as a space for women activists in the region to share their stories and experiences.
Katie’s interest in sharing the rich history of and stories from Appalachia is largely inspired by her maternal grandmother.
